Etapa 29: Sarria - Samos - Triacastela - As Nogais - Pedrafita do Cebreiro - Folgoso do Courel
El albergue de Sarria estaba lleno y la persona que lo lleva ya no estaba. Lo único que dejó encima de la mesa fuel cartel de "completo" en varios idiomas y el cuño del albergue. Le pregunté a un peregrino y me dijo que podía entrar igual. Tendría que dormir en el suelo pero una ducha y poder hacer la cena no tiene precio.
Mis cenas y mis desayunos son tamaño industrial y es que si no comes no hay nada que hacer. De noche llovió lo que no está escrito. Por la mañana siguió lloviendo y aproveché para poner un poco la página web al día en la Casa de Cultura de Sarria. A eso de las 12 dejó de llover y emprendí camino hacia Samos.
Resultaba curioso ver a tanta gente camino de Santiago y yo en sentido contrario. En los albergues me preguntan que camino estoy haciendo. Si voy o si vengo de Santiago. Y yo ni voy ni vengo...incluso siendo gallego me podrían preguntar si subo o si bajo. Pero yo ni voy ni vengo, ni subo ni bajo, yo ando a vueltas.
Ayer me pararon dos coches. Y me decían: "date la vuelta que vas mal, que Santiago queda en sentido contrario". Y yo me parto de risa y les regalo la pegatina. Cuando les cuento lo que estoy haciendo se echan las manos a la cabeza.
Hasta tal punto llega la cosa que ayer estaba un paisano en un pueblo y me vió pasar. El tío se quedó pensativo, preguntándose a donde irá este y...para salir de dudas; cogió su coche y emprendió una persecución. Me pilló a la salida del pueblo y me paró para decirme que iba en sentido contrario a Santiago.
Yo le dije que iba dirección Nogais y lo que estaba haciendo. Tuve suerte porque el me sugirió que diera marcha atrás y fuese por otra carretera. Que me sería más fácil.
Parte de esta etapa la he hecho en sentido contrario a los peregrinos. Te cruzas con todo tipo de gente. Muchos solos. Ya les vale, tantos km en solitario. Bueno, se de uno que también se dedica a esas cosas en solitario. Luego mucho guiri. Van mangados en sus bicis. Casi no llevan peso porque llevan vehículo de apoyo.
Pero no van por el camino oficial, el de tierra. Van por carretera nacional. Más que el Camino Francés hacen el Guri-Camino. Algunos sin casco, sin guantes. Con vaqueros en vez de con culotte. Luego no me estraña que acaben reventados. Los albergues de la Xunta se llenan enseguida porque la gente madruga y termina la etapa al mediodía.
Como no hay albergues suficientes; hay pueblos que viven de dar "albergue" a todos estos guiris. Uno de esos pueblos es Triacastela. Ahí hay una casa antigüa que fue hospital de peregrinos y un montón de albergues privados.
Para llegar hasta Triacastela, si vienes por el Camino Francés, necesitas mucha fe para aguantar físicamente pero...además de Fe necesitas una buena cartera porque los precios son "precio-guiri" e inalcanzables para "peregrinos" como yo.
Y volviendo a mi ruta. Yo voy por libre y como ando a vueltas ya he pisado unos pocos de caminos. El Portugués, el de Finisterre, el del Norte, el Antigüo por Fonsagrada y el Francés. Y es que no paro. Yo del camino lo único que utilizo son los albergues, cuando puedo. Pero no utilizo el camino oficial para nada. No me llama la atención. Yo llegaré a Santiago y entraré por el tramo final del Francés pero habré elaborado mi propio camino.
Y es que yo soy así. Ya he hecho hace muchos años el camino Portugués pero a mi eso de que tenga que seguir una flecha pues como que no. A mi me gusta más ir "a mi bola", perderme...trazar mi propio camino y no sólo para desplazarme, en mi vida me gusta ser dueño de lo que hago. Económicamente me iría mejor si me amoldase a lo que me dicta el "sistema" pero yo ahora estoy haciendo experimentos. Ya veremos como salgo de esta.
Y siguiendo mi ruta. Salí de Sarria, pasé por Samos, Triacastela, As Nogais y subí a Pedrafita do Cebreiro. En Nogais me invitaron a un café con leche y la chica del bar me explicó que el pueblo ha perdido mucha vida desde que pasó la autovía. El pueblo está algo vacío y desde la plaza del ayuntamiento ves un puente altísimo por el que pasan camiones. Si del fotoshop de tus ojos eliminas el puente...esos camiones parecen aviones de lo alto que pasan.
En el principio de la etapa he tenido suerte. El viento me ha pegado a favor y me ha ayudado para llegar a Nogais pero ahora me pegará de cara subiendo Pedrafita pero, durante el rato que he estado charlando en el bar, ha cambiado a Norte y eso me ayuda a subir con facilidad.
Voy en solitario por la antigüa Nacional VI. En los puentes tengo que tener cuidado porque mi sillín está más alto que el guardarrail y en uno de los puentes me llevo un gran susto. Una racha de viento cambió de Norte a Sur y por un instante me dió la sensación de que me precipitaba al vacío. A partir de ese momento los puentes los crucé por el centro de mi carril. Total, casi no pasan coches y evito la sensación de vértigo.
Subiendo Pedrafita paré a sacar unas fotos a la autovía. Da Vértigo de verdad. A los pilares no se le ve el fondo, se pierden en la vegetación. Camiones inmensos, con trozos de torre de aerogeneradores, cruzan los puentes.
Hay un momento en que la carretera y la autovía van casi pegadas y un camionero se las ve y se las desea para que su camión avance y se debe compadecer de mi que me empieza a pitar y a saludar.
Y bueno, crucé Piedrafita y como la carretera que lleva a Folgoso do Courel estaba cortada por obras; tuve que dar un rodeo de más de 5 km y subir hasta el Alto do Poio, a más de 1.300 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Desde allí emprendí camino a Folgoso do Courel.
A este pueblo llegué a las 11 de la noche. Aquí me dieron acogida en un hostal que pagó el ayuntamiento y ahora me han dado internet hasta las 3 de la tarde.
Muchas cosas que me pasan en el camino no las cuento pero no se me van a olvidar. Por limitaciones técnicas lo único que puedo hacer es escribir a mano y poco más. A veces tengo chollos como este y aprovecho pero no siempre puedo.
Digo esto porque todo lo sucedido desde el Alto do Poio hasta Folgoso do Courel daría para una crónica completa y no quiero aburrir. El libro de esta ruta lo escribiré a partir de mis notas y de estas crónicas. En ese libro si contaré todo, bueno, todo lo que se pueda contar. Yo no soy periodista pero, hay cosas que la gente me cuenta, y con los ojos me dice: "ni se te ocurra poner esto en tu web" y yo lo voy a respetar. No diré nada ni en mi web, ni en mi libro, si algún día lo escribo claro.
Los que me conoceis empezareis a decir que, muy en mi linea, me guardo muchas cosas. Hablo mucho pero no me mojo. Yo no estoy de acuerdo. Hay cosas que sólo pertenecen a uno, a nadie más.
Pero...para que en su día os animeis a comprar el libro; sólo deciros que lo que me pasó en esos km me ha hecho replantearme mi ruta. Hay cosas que no estoy haciendo bien y debo cambiarlas. Voy a hacer modificaciones en mi planteamiento de trabajo.
Los primeros perjudicados serán los que siguen la aventura por internet ya que no podré escribir tanto pero lo importante es llegar al final y sobre todo hacer mi trabajo de una forma segura. Sin correr riesgos innecesarios y disfrutando del viaje.
